AL QASHASH (CERITA) — Ayat 13
فَرَدَدْنَاهُ إِلَى أُمِّهِ كَيْ تَقَرَّ عَيْنُهَا وَلَا تَحْزَنَ وَلِتَعْلَمَ أَنَّ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
So We restored him to his mother that she might be content and not grieve and that she would know that the promise of Allah is true. But most of the people do not know.
Tafsir
{So We restored him to his mother that her eye might be refreshed} by meeting him {and not grieve} then {and that she might know that the promise of Allah} to return him to her {is true, but most of them} meaning the people {do not know} about this promise nor that this is his sister and this is his mother. So he stayed with her until she weaned him and gave her a wage of one dinar for each day, and she took it because it was war property, so she brought him to Pharaoh and he was raised by him, as God Almighty said, narrating about him in Surat Ash-Shu’ara’ {Did We not raise you among us as a child, and did you not remain among us for years of your life?}
