YAA SIIN — Ayat 8
8
إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا فِي أَعْنَاقِهِمْ أَغْلاَلاً فَهِيَ إِلَى الأَذْقَانِ فَهُم مُّقْمَحُونَ
Indeed, We have put shackles on their necks, and they are to their chins, so they are with heads [kept] aloft.
Tafsir
{Indeed, We have placed shackles on their necks} by attaching the hands to them, because the shackle joins the hand to the neck. {So they} that is, the hands are joined {to the chins} plural of chin, and it is the meeting of the two beards. {So they are with their heads up} raising their heads, unable to lower them. This is a metaphor, and what is meant is that they do not submit to faith nor lower their heads to it.
