SABA' (KAUM SABA') — Ayat 9

9

Then, do they not look at what is before them and what is behind them of the heaven and earth? If We should will, We could cause the earth to swallow them or [could] let fall upon them fragments from the sky. Indeed in that is a sign for every servant turning back [to Allah ].

Tafsir Ibnu Katsir

Tafsir

{Have they not seen} they look {at what is before them and what is behind them} what is above them and what is below them {of the heaven and the earth? If We will, We can cause the earth to swallow them up or cause a fragment of the heaven to fall upon them} with a sukoon on the seen or a fatha on it {of the heaven} and in a reading of the three verbs with a ya {Indeed in that} what is seen {is a sign for every servant who turns [to God]} referring to his Lord, indicating God’s ability to resurrect and whatever He wills.
