SABA' (KAUM SABA') — Ayat 20

20

وَلَقَدْ صَدَّقَ عَلَيْهِمْ إِبْلِيسُ ظَنَّهُ فَاتَّبَعُوهُ إِلَّا فَرِيقًا مِّنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

And Iblees had already confirmed through them his assumption, so they followed him, except for a party of believers.

Tafsir

{And indeed, Satan’s assumption about them was true} with both light and heavy pronunciation {regarding them} meaning the disbelievers among them, Saba’ {that they would follow him because of his temptation} so they followed him. So he was true in his assumption with light pronunciation or he was true in his assumption with heavy pronunciation, meaning he found him to be true {except} meaning but {a group of believers} to clarify, meaning they are the believers, who did not follow him.
