ATH THALAAQ (TALAK) — Ayat 2

2

And when they have [nearly] fulfilled their term, either retain them according to acceptable terms or part with them according to acceptable terms. And bring to witness two just men from among you and establish the testimony for [the acceptance of] Allah . That is instructed to whoever should believe in Allah and the Last day. And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out

Tafsir

{So when they reach their term} when they are close to the end of their waiting period, {then retain them} by taking them back {in a good manner} without harming them, {or separate from them in a good manner} leave them until their waiting period ends and do not harm them by taking them back, {and call to witness two just men from among you} regarding the taking back or the separation, {and establish the testimony for God} not for the one against whom or for whom the testimony is given. {That is admonition for whoever believes in God and the Last Day. And whoever fears God - He will make for him a way out} from the distress of this world and the Hereafter.
