ATH THAARIQ (YANG DATANG DI MALAM HARI) — Ayat 17
17
فَمَهِّلِ الْكَافِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًا
So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile.
Tafsir
{So give respite} O Muhammad {to the disbelievers. Give them respite} is an emphasis made good by the contradiction in wording, meaning give them respite {slowly} a little, and it is a source confirming the meaning of the agent, the diminutive of rod or arowad, by extension. God Almighty seized them at Badr and abrogated the respite with the verse of the sword, meaning the command to fight and strive.
