AL HAAQQAH (HARI KIAMAT) — Ayat 7
سَخَّرَهَا عَلَيْهِمْ سَبْعَ لَيَالٍ وَثَمَانِيَةَ أَيَّامٍ حُسُومًا فَتَرَى الْقَوْمَ فِيهَا صَرْعَى كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ خَاوِيَةٍ
Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees.
Tafsir
{He subjected it} He sent it by force {upon them for seven nights and eight days} The first of which was from the morning of Wednesday, the eighth of Shawwal remaining, and it was at the end of winter {severe} successive, likened to the successive action of the decisive one in repeating the cauterization of the disease, one after another, until it is cured {so you would see the people therein lying prostrate} thrown down, perished {as if they were trunks} roots {of hollow palm trees} fallen and empty.
