كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ وَعَادٌ بِالْقَارِعَةِ
Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity.

{Thamud and Aad denied the terrible calamity} of the Resurrection because it strikes hearts with its horrors.
