AL FAT-H (KEMENANGAN) — Ayat 2
لِيَغْفِرَ لَكَ اللَّهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِن ذَنبِكَ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ وَيُتِمَّ نِعْمَتَهُ عَلَيْكَ وَيَهْدِيَكَ صِرَاطًا مُّسْتَقِيمًا
That Allah may forgive for you what preceded of your sin and what will follow and complete His favor upon you and guide you to a straight path
Tafsir
{That Allah may forgive you} for your jihad {what is past of your sin and what is to come} of it, so that your nation may desire jihad. This is interpreted as the infallibility of the prophets, peace and blessings be upon them, based on conclusive rational evidence from sins. The lam is for the final cause, so its subject is caused, not the cause. {And He may complete} with the aforementioned opening {His favor} His favor {upon you and guide you} with it {to a path} a straight way} that He may make you steadfast upon it, which is the religion of Islam.
