كَانُوا قَلِيلًا مِّنَ اللَّيْلِ مَا يَهْجَعُونَ
They used to sleep but little of the night,
Tafsir
{They used to sleep but little of the night} they slept, and “ma” is redundant, and “they slept” is the predicate of “was,” and “little” is a circumstance, meaning they slept for a short time at night and prayed most of it.
